A winter and sunny weekend is just around the corner, with the return of cold temperatures starting Thursday. So dress warm and get ready to hit the slopes and the pedestrian village to kick off the Holiday season at Tremblant! This weather will also allow us to continue our snowmaking efforts on several trails, ensuring a maximum of skiable terrain and lifts for the Holiday period.
Forecast for the Weekend
As of Thursday, December 19, 2024, we have 37 open runs and 9 ski lifts in operation. We aim to open over 40 trails for the weekend, including Algonquin and Franc Sud on the Soleil side. This number may increase if snowfall allows us to open natural snow terrain. We are also working to open the Porte du Soleil lift this Sunday to serve P2 parking lot and the Chalumeau, Carriole and Sentier des Pruches trails. Our goal and priority are to open all of our lifts for the Holiday period with as many runs as possible, including the Edge. An opening date for this side will be announced very soon.
Since last Friday, you can ski down to the South base via the lower Nansen trail, and since Monday via Johannsen. We are now back to our normal operations, and you no longer need to take the gondola to return to the pedestrian village after your ski day. Additionally, the Flying Mile and Expo lifts are in operation to take you from the base to the mid-mountain of their respective sides.
This week, we once again experienced some rain from Monday night to Tuesday afternoon. Fortunately, this did not cause any significant damage to the mountain, but the main drawback was that we had to halt our snowmaking operations for the time being. However, this break allowed us to prepare all the equipment for the next production window and to distribute the snow piles on several trails. We were able to resume our work and snowmaking on Wednesday night, and the coming days will be very favourable for snowmaking with the return of cold temperatures. Plus, we received over 10 cm of new snow on Wednesday evening and night.
Good news for alpine touring enthusiasts, our ascent corridors in the Nansen and Beauchemin trails are now open. You can now enjoy this activity on the mountain and take in the beautiful winter landscapes it offers. Be sure to have your alpine touring ticket or pass and always check the trail conditions and their opening status on our website before starting your hike.
As for our terrain parks, the upper section of the Mitik snowpark is complete with several features and jumps, perfect for getting started with freestyle skiing and snowboarding. We are currently working on the lower section for an imminent opening.
This weekend also marks the start of our first tracks mornings. Starting Saturday, you can ski on our freshly groomed trails on the North side from 7:45 AM, 45 minutes before regular opening time. Get your first tracks ticket at our ticket office or your privileges bundle to access it all season long.
