This winter, discover a hidden gem in the heart of the snowy mountains! Whether you are an experienced adventurer or simply looking to enjoy Tremblant’s winter beauty, the Tour du Timber offers an enchanting setting for a winter outing.

This winding 2.9 km forest path loops around Mount Timber, nestled between the North and Soleil sides of Tremblant. The trail is open to snowshoeing and alpine touring and can be accessed either from the summit or via the Grand-Nord trail, which connects to the Nord-Sud trail linking the North Base with the bottom of the Algonquin ski trail on the Soleil side. Though it feels far from the bustling pedestrian village, it remains easily accessible: a short gondola ride brings you to the summit, followed by a brief walk via the Grand Brûlé trail.

A Walk Through a Snowy Forest Wonderland

From your first steps, you will be surrounded by the serene beauty of snow-covered landscapes. Snow drapes every branch, transforming the forest into a true winter wonderland. Listen to the crunch of your touring skis on the snow, the quiet rustling of wind in the trees, and the distant songs of birds. It’s an ideal place to disconnect and recharge.

Spending time in nature also brings numerous benefits to both body and mind. Outdoor exercise helps improve cardiovascular health, reduce stress, and boost the immune system. Every breath of fresh air on the Tour du Timber trail is an invitation to slow down and savor the moment. Enjoy a serene retreat deep within the heart of the mountain.

Highlights Along the Trail and Seasonal Activities

  • Frozen Waterfalls: The trail’s icy cascades offer a spectacular frozen display, where water trapped in motion creates glistening formations.
  • Animal Tracks: Keep an eye out for tracks left by rabbits and deer that roam the area.
  • Soothing Silence: Here, the most prominent sound is the forest itself — a natural melody that calms the mind.

With its winding path and steeper sections, the Tour du Timber offers a challenging and rewarding adventure for experienced snowshoers and alpine skiers. However the trail is not recommended for winter hiking, as boots can create holes in the prepared tracks. On the other hand, for trail running enthusiasts during the summer season, please note that La Classique Tremblant uses this section for its 20 km and longer courses.

If you prefer to be accompanied by a guide, this service is offered with the Snowshoeing and Fondue tour, which uses part of the trail.
