What to Expect During the Activity

The concept of the evening is simple! Go up the mountain in the gondola, put on your snowshoes and follow your guide to the Refuge. Once you’ve arrived, enjoy a fondue dinner served by our amazing team in a rustic ambiance. Then, go back down the mountain to the pedestrian village. An evening you’ll never forget !

The Evening

The activity starts at 3:30 PM. You’ll meet your guide and group for the evening in front of the Valet Ski building located next to the gondola entry. You’ll be given your equipment if you have rented it (snowshoes, walking sticks and headlamp). At that moment, your guide will explain how the evening is going to go. It’s a departure to the top of the mountain in the gondola! Once at the top, you’ll have a chance to admire the view from the highest peak of the Laurentians. And why not ask your guide to take a picture of you? It is now time to put on your snowshoes and to start your hike in the forest to the Refuge du Trappeur. The 2 kilometer hike is very pleasant. You’ll be able to appreciate the nature in our glades from a whole other angle during an hour or so.

At your arrival to the Refuge, you’ll have a moment to relax and enjoy the view on the surrounding valleys and mountains on the exterior terrace a few minutes before the dinner. It is now time to eat! You’ll enter the wooden chalet and you’ll be assigned a table for the evening. On the menu, you’ll be served a cheese fondue, served with baguette bread, a sausage assortment, artisanal ham, potatoes, vegetables, and a choice of two mixed salads. End the meal with a chocolate fondue with fresh fruits. A real delight!

After the dinner, it will be time to go back to the pedestrian village. A night hike of 3 kilometers await you to meet the base of the mountain. Put back on your snowshoes and turn on your headlamp, and start your descent still accompanied by your guide. You’ll also have a chance to stop and admire the lights in the pedestrian village at the end of the hike. Once you’ve arrived, it will be the time to say goodbye to your guide and group, and hope you enjoyed the experience.

What You’ll Need for the Activity

To do the activity, you’ll need a pair of snowshoes, winter boots and walking sticks (this last one is optional). Also dress accordingly to the weather and snow conditions. We recommend you use the layering method for the hike, as well as wearing snow pants. Also, since the last part of the activity takes place in the dark, you’ll need to have with your a headlamp to go back down the mountain to the village. It is also possible to rent your equipment when you book your activity.

Please note that the minimum age to take part in the activity is 13 years old and that it’s a forest hike, so you need to be able to do the hike on a 5-kilometer distance.
