At Tremblant, we have a deep commitment to the environment and actively work to reduce our carbon footprint in our daily operations. Despite our efforts to minimize emissions, we recognize that it is sometimes unavoidable to emit carbon. Therefore, we have implemented various carbon offset initiatives to neutralize our environmental impact.

Flat Rate Offset

When booking online, our guests have the option to offset their carbon footprint with a $10 contribution. The funds collected are annually donated to Carbon Boréal, which uses the money to plant trees in the boreal forest of Quebec and to finance decarbonization research at the University of Quebec in Chicoutimi. Since the program’s inception in 2021, over 2,600 trees have been planted, offsetting more than 360 tons of CO2.

Event-Based Offset

Our major events, such as Ironman, 24H Tremblant, and the FIS World Cup, systematically include donations to Carbon Boréal in their budgets. These contributions aim to offset the greenhouse gas emissions generated by the organization of these events. By incorporating these offset practices, we strengthen our commitment to a more sustainable future.

Local Reforestation and The Grande Corvée

Since 2023, we have launched a local reforestation project on former ski slopes at Tremblant, called “1 Hire = 1 Tree.” This innovative project won our first eco-friendly idea contest, organized internally among our employees.

In parallel, we organize The Grande Corvée each year at the end of autumn and the beginning of spring. This clean-up initiative is done in partnership with TELUS. For every pound of waste collected, TELUS donates $5 to our eco-friendly program. Through this collaboration, a total of $10,000 has been collected over the past two years to support the “1 Hire = 1 Tree” project.

To date, more than 800 trees have been planted as part of this initiative, offsetting approximately 113 tons of CO2.

At Tremblant, we firmly believe that every action counts towards protecting our planet. Our carbon offset initiatives are just a part of our ongoing efforts to reduce our environmental impact. We are determined to continue our actions for a greener and more sustainable future, and we thank all our visitors and partners who support these initiatives.

Together, let’s make a difference for our planet!
