The Mountain: A Space for Everyone
At Alterra Mountain Company—and by extension, Tremblant—we believe the mountain is for everyone. Diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential in building a strong community. That’s why we invest in initiatives that break down historical barriers and foster a culture of representation and belonging, both for our teams and our guests. It is in this spirit that Tremblant had the privilege of hosting the BLK WinterFest 2025.
BLK WinterFest 2025 – Tremblant Kickoff
On February 2, Routes to Rootz successfully kicked off BLK WinterFest 2025 with a sold-out event at Tremblant, transforming the mountain into a vibrant celebration of Black culture, skiing, and snowboarding.
This inaugural festival day, organized in partnership with Tremblant, brought together 250 participants, dozens of instructors, volunteers, DJs, dancers, as well as sponsors and influencers—all uniting to create an inclusive and festive winter experience.
More than just a lineup of events, BLK WinterFest is a movement—one that reclaims outdoor spaces and builds community in an industry where diversity remains underrepresented.
“This is just the beginning. Our vision is to grow this movement, take up even more space, and invite more Black people to discover and nurture their love for the outdoors. Winter belongs to us too, and we’re here to stay.” — Jamillah Jean, Founder of Routes to Rootz
BLK WinterFest is the largest Black-led winter sports initiative in Quebec. This year marks its first collaboration with Station Mont Tremblant, reinforcing their commitment to inclusivity in Canada’s great outdoors:
“We recognize and appreciate the importance of creating a welcoming space. Seeing so many first-time skiers discover their passion for winter filled us with joy and pride. We cherish this collaboration with Routes to Rootz and hope to strengthen it in the years to come to inspire even more ski lovers. We’re already looking forward to planning next year’s edition!” — Annique Aird, Vice President, Sales, Marketing & Communications, Station Mont Tremblant
