For 85 years, Tremblant has nurtured a passion for skiing, ensuring that the love for winter sports is passed down from generation to generation. Now more than ever, the resort is committed to supporting the next generation of skiers and increasing access to the mountain for young people.
Thanks to innovative initiatives such as MON Tremblant, the Ski Introduction Program, and the special “Kids Ski Free” week, Tremblant is dedicated to making skiing accessible to everyone. Whether you’re a beginner or an enthusiast, everyone can fully enjoy the thrill of the slopes in an inclusive and fun-filled environment.
MON Tremblant: Offering an Unforgettable First Experience
Launched in celebration of the resort’s 75th anniversary, the MON Tremblant program provides a day of introduction to snow sports each year for 1,200 children from 8 local elementary schools. Each participating student receives free access to the slopes, ski equipment rental, and a beginner ski lesson. Accompanying parents also receive a ski ticket and necessary equipment for the day.
Since its launch in 2014, the program has been widely praised and received prestigious awards, including the Excellence Award from the Association de Stations de Ski du Quebec and the Heartfelt Award at the Mont-Tremblant Excellence Gala. Originally conceived as a one-time initiative, MON Tremblant has become an annual event, showcasing the resort’s commitment to the community.
Annique Aird, Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Communications at Station Mont Tremblant:
“MON Tremblant’s mission is to introduce young people in our community to the mountain and snow sports. By increasing access to the resort, we aim to encourage the next generation and share our passion for skiing.“
In addition to this introductory day, participating children aged 6 to 12 are offered a Tremblant pass that includes discounts for their upcoming family ski days throughout the winter.
Ski Introduction Program: Breaking Barriers and Creating Memories
In Tremblant’s ongoing effort to introduce skiing to young people, the Ski Introduction Program, launched in January 2023, offers an unforgettable day to approximately 300 young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in the Greater Montreal area.
The day begins with transportation from the North Shore of Montreal. Upon arrival, they pick up their free equipment rentals, with the help of certified instructors, volunteers, and even staff members from other departments at Tremblant who are mobilized for the event.
The children then begin learning to ski on the magic carpet in the beginner zone. With close supervision, they discover the thrill of sliding, learn to make turns, and sometimes even tackle small courses. After this first experience, they take the gondola to the summit, where their smiles year after year reflect the significance of this day. At the Grand Manitou, they share a friendly moment over their lunch, then head outside to capture a group photo against a breathtaking backdrop.
The day ends with a gentle gondola ride down, a joyful meeting with Toufou, the mascot, and a comforting hot chocolate before heading home. For many, it’s their first step into the world of skiing, and the memories created on this day will last a lifetime.
“Kids Ski Free” Week
The “Kids Ski Free” week, organized by Alterra Mountain Company, is an exceptional opportunity for families. During its first edition in December 2024, Tremblant invited children aged 12 and under to ski for free for an entire week.
To accompany this initiative, the resort offered discounts on equipment rentals (50%), group lessons at the Snow School (50%), and some winter accessories in participating shops (20%). This was the perfect chance to introduce young people to the mountain and share the love of skiing with the whole family.
KIDS SKI FREE WEEKTremblant, A Vision for the Future
By also participating in Ma Première Fois de maneige, Tremblant partners with the Association de Stations de Ski du Quebec to offer everyone, aged 5 and up, the chance to try skiing or snowboarding. This program includes a lesson, equipment, and discounted access, with a second visit on the magic carpet without a lesson to extend the experience.
These programs are not just one-time initiatives; they embody a sustainable philosophy. By offering young people the opportunity to discover snow sports, Tremblant is investing in the future of skiing while reinforcing its role as a community pillar.
