It has been another great week at Tremblant in terms of snow production. We even managed to exceed our forecasted number of open trails last weekend thanks to the favourable temperatures for snowmaking and the sustained efforts of our teams.
Forecast for the Weekend
As of Friday, December 13, we have 19 trails open on the South and North slopes, served by 6 lifts, including the Cabriolet. This number will increase by the end of the week, with nearly 30 trails open by Sunday, including the runs dedicated to the 24h Tremblant event taking place this weekend. Additionally, it will be possible to ski down to the South base to access the pedestrian village starting Friday via the lower Nansen trail.
Wednesday’s weather forced us to shut down our snowmaking system as the temperatures were not low enough. However, the cold returned early Thursday, allowing us to resume production on nearly 20 trails. Our snow grooming team was also able to do extensive work rebuilding our open trails after this rain episode to open as much skiable terrain as possible for our guests as soon as the mountain opened. This rain even turned into snow overnight from Wednesday to Thursday, with almost 10 cm of accumulation that continued throughout Thursday, with a total accumulation of 24 cm in 48 hours.
Regarding our terrain parks, the Progression Park in the Alpine trail will be closed this weekend due to the 24h event, but we are getting ready to open the Mitik Park in the Sissy Schuss trail on the North side with a few features. It will open on Saturday morning.
