Tremblant is proud to announce that it will be integrating RFID technology for the 2023/24 season. Access to all lifts will be possible by passing through a gate which will read the content of skiers’ and snowboarders’ cards via Radio Frequency IDentification. Thus, the gate will open automatically as they pass.

The introduction of this technology requires a new card that will be sent by mail to Ikon Pass, Tonik and Latitude holders, while daily tickets can be collected on site via printing terminals or at the counter.

This new procedure facilitates access to the lifts for both visitors and validators because the card is read through the garment. This therefore speeds up access to the lift while reducing the risk of loss or breakage of passes and cards. We are thrilled to offer this new feature that will make the Tremblant experience even easier and more enjoyable than ever!

About RFID Technology

RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. This technology allows the gates installed at the base of the lifts to read the content of a pass or ski ticket using a signal emitted by the gate. Without having to take the card out of your clothes, regardless of the temperature, the signal emitted by the gate allows you to open the barriers when you pass.

The speed of access to the lifts and the user-friendliness of the automatic detection of the card while leaving it inside the garment are the main advantages.

RFID cards only contain a number associated with each unique user profile. No personal or additional information is stored there.

The card should be placed on the left side of your top garment. Make sure the card is free of any other interfering item such as a cell phone, packet of gum or others. Other cards such as credit or debit cards do not create a problem because they are not compatible with the lift gates. No problem with magnets either as information is not stored magnetically. However, the card should not be pierced other than the original hole as this could damage the antenna.

Attention: you must not have several tickets on you when you go through the gate.

No. This technology allows you to reuse the same card from year to year unless otherwise specified by Tremblant or Ikon Pass. The information will be sent to you when you purchase or renew your pass or card.

An agent is in charge of authentication. During your visit, he will see your photo, your name and the type of subscription you have on his screen.
