Dany is passionate about golf, spending quality time with friends, discovering new wines, enjoying great food, and soaking up every ray of sunshine on a patio. Summer in Tremblant is truly where he feels at home. For him, it is a lively village full of energy, with plenty of great spots to start the day with a good coffee or wrap it up with a beer after a round. Between golf courses that are as beautiful as they are challenging, gourmet restaurants, outdoor trails, and the area’s unique atmosphere, it’s the perfect place for an active, flavourful, and discovery-filled summer. In this essay, Dany tells us about his golf experience at Tremblant and why it’s one of his favourite places to play.
I’ve been playing golf in Mont-Tremblant for years now, mainly at Le Diable and Le Géant, and every single time I feel the same spark I did the very first time I played a round there. The courses are stunning, surrounded by the mountains and natural beauty of the Laurentians. But above all, there’s this unique atmosphere that always makes me want to come back, year after year.
Over time, I’ve come to appreciate both the technical challenges and the simpler moments: a solid tee shot, a surprising signature hole, or just a break with friends while soaking in the breathtaking views.
Ever since I was young, my favourite hole at Le Géant has always been hole number 8. Every time I drove past it, I’d picture myself hitting that approach shot onto the green. And this year, after more than 20 years of playing golf, I finally got the chance to do it.
Le Géant is a one-of-a-kind golf course, literally built into the mountain. Many holes are tough, and no matter how good your shot is, sometimes the terrain decides the outcome. Hole 8, a long par 4 and one of the toughest on the course, has always held something special for me. As a lefty, I must shape my drive, so it curves slightly to the right. Then comes the second shot: a downhill approach from about 120–135 yards, with cars passing along the left side. That mix of challenge and memory is what’s made this hole my favourite for as long as I can remember.
For me, Tremblant isn’t just a golf destination. It’s a place where I’ve been creating memories for years, always with the same joy of playing.
