The official groundbreaking of the construction of Club Med Tremblant marks a new milestone in Club Med’s development in Canada and unveils the vision for a future four-season Resort combining mountain expertise, ski-in/ski-out access and the Laurentians lifestyle.
Official Groundbreaking Ceremony
Club Med Tremblant reached an important milestone on October 7, 2026, with its official groundbreaking ceremony, marking the start of construction on what will become Club Med’s second mountain Resort in Canada. Scheduled to open in December 2028, the future Resort builds on the success of Club Med Québec Charlevoix, which opened in 2021, and further strengthens Club Med’s presence in Canada. The pioneer of the all-inclusive vacation concept, Club Med, continues to expand its mountain offering across North America.

In the presence of Stéphane Maquaire, President and Chief Executive Officer of Club Med, and Carolyne Doyon, President and Chief Executive Officer of Club Med North America and the Caribbean, the ceremony, followed by a press conference at the Casino de Mont-Tremblant, marked the official start of construction. The event also provided an opportunity to unveil more details about the vision for the future Resort and the experience awaiting guests. Rémy Bourgeon, President of Alderan, and Patrice Malo, President of Station Mont-Tremblant, were also in attendance alongside other key project partners to mark this important milestone in bringing Club Med Tremblant to life.
This new milestone is part of Club Med’s global mountain expansion strategy and further establishes North America as one of the brand’s priority strategic regions. Recognized as one of North America’s leading four-season mountain destinations, Tremblant offers an ideal setting for Club Med’s premium all-inclusive vacation model, with strong appeal among travellers from Quebec, Ontario, the United States and international markets.
“Club Med is the pioneer of the all-inclusive vacation concept and the global leader in premium vacations and the only hospitality brand specializing in all-inclusive ski resorts. This unique expertise is one of the pillars of our development. Today, Club Med Tremblant fully aligns with our global strategy: an ambitious vision to make Club Med an iconic lifestyle brand and reach 100 Resorts by 2035. But above all, this growth is thoughtful growth. Sustainable growth. Growth rooted in exceptional destinations. And Tremblant is unquestionably one of them,” said Stéphane Maquaire, President and Chief Executive Officer of Club Med.
Club Med’s mountain expertise at the heart of Tremblant
Located on Versant Soleil, Club Med Tremblant will enjoy a prime location at the foot of the slopes, offering guests a ski-in/ski-out experience in the heart of one of the largest ski areas in Eastern North America. The future Resort will be fully immersed in the distinctive Tremblant experience, surrounded by the landscapes of the Laurentians, an energetic alpine atmosphere and proximity to its iconic pedestrian village.
Its arrival coincides with an important new phase in the development of Versant Soleil. Tremblant recently announced the development of Timber Summit, which will add 62 acres of skiable terrain, eight new trails and a high-speed quad chairlift beginning in winter 2027–2028. These investments will further enhance the ski experience and support the long-term development of this area of the mountain.
“Today, we mark the beginning of the construction of the new Club Med Tremblant, an important milestone in the evolution of Versant Soleil. Together with our $42.5 million investment in the Timber summit, this project will strengthen Tremblant’s appeal and enhance the visitor experience. We are proud to count Club Med among the partners helping shape the future of our destination,” said Patrice Malo, President and Chief Operating Officer at Station Mont-Tremblant
Club Med’s Mountain Leadership
Club Med Tremblant will continue to bring decades of expertise developed across Club Med’s mountain destinations around the world to Quebec. Designed as a destination where Tremblant’s energy meets Club Med’s all-inclusive experience, the future Resort will offer a premium experience that is warm, active and inviting, designed for both families and adults.
In winter, skiing and snowboarding will naturally be at the heart of the experience, with lessons and lift tickets included as part of Club Med’s all-inclusive offering. During the warmer seasons, the Resort will offer a different way to discover the Laurentians through outdoor activities, wellness and immersion in nature, making Club Med Tremblant a true four-season destination.
The experience will also be brought to life through the warm, multicultural spirit of Club Med’s iconic G.O.s, signature Kids Clubs and sports academies, as well as a culinary offering inspired in part by Quebec’s local flavours and ingredients. Tremblant’s vibrant and festive atmosphere will extend into the Resort through convivial moments and the spirit of après-ski.
The project will also feature an Exclusive Collection space, designed to offer a more intimate and personalized experience within the Resort. The vision for the space focuses on elevated comfort including upgraded amenities, priority access, private spaces and panoramic mountain views, all within a warm atmosphere inspired by the spirit of alpine retreats.
“Following the remarkable success of Club Med Québec Charlevoix, seeing a second resort take shape in our province today is a tremendous source of pride, not only for Club Med, but for Québec as well. Tremblant represents the next chapter in this success story. A story built on trust, strong partnerships, and a shared belief that Québec has an important role to play in the future of global tourism. Beyond creating approximately 300 direct jobs and hundreds more across the region, Club Med Tremblant will create opportunities for people, careers, and community growth.” said Carolyne Doyon, President and Chief Executive Officer of Club Med North America and the Caribbean.
With Club Med Tremblant, Club Med continues to build on its Canadian presence, which began with the opening of Club Med Québec Charlevoix in 2021. Since opening, the Resort has welcomed more than 170,000 guests, demonstrating travellers’ interest in premium all-inclusive mountain vacations in Canada.
A project rooted in its environment and community
Beyond the guest experience, Club Med Tremblant will contribute to the economic and tourism vitality of Mont-Tremblant and the Laurentians. The project is expected to create jobs through both its construction and operations, while supporting year-round tourism and fostering collaboration with local suppliers, outdoor sports networks and regional tourism organizations.
“This groundbreaking marks what the investments of Comète SCPI shareholders make possible: the development of a landmark project in Canada alongside Club Med. We are proud to play a role in bringing it to life and to take another significant step forward in Comète’s international expansion,” said Rémy Bourgeon, Alderan President
The Resort’s design will also place significant emphasis on integrating harmoniously with Tremblant’s natural environment. The landscaping strategy aims to restore and extend the existing forest cover, prioritizing native species characteristic of Mont-Tremblant. More than 61% of the property will be dedicated to green space, helping integrate the Resort into its surrounding natural landscape.
The project is also targeting LEED Gold certification for its construction and Green Globe certification for its operations, while incorporating objectives related to low-impact construction, reduced energy consumption and local sourcing.
With an opening planned for December 2028, Club Med Tremblant will mark a new chapter in Club Med’s presence in Canada and its mountain development strategy across North America.
