Spring is officially underway at Tremblant! The past few days have been amazing, giving us a glimpse of the spring skiing ahead, with warmer temperatures softening the snow throughout the day. But the ski season is far from over—we still have a lot of snow on the mountain and there’s still just over a month left to enjoy the slopes.
Spring skiing is becoming more and more noticeable. The weather has been very mild in recent days, but nights and mornings remain quite cold. This means that snow conditions are firm in the morning and soften throughout the day. Our grooming operations must therefore adapt to these changing conditions and the melting snow, redistributing it on the trails overnight when the mountain is closed to ensure the maximum number of runs are open for skiers and snowboarders the next day.
As of today, we have 79 open trails across three of our four sides, including some glades on the North Side. The Edge side is closed on Thursday due to the weather forecast but will reopen for the weekend with as many runs as possible, depending on the conditions. We always recommend checking our live conditions on our website or mobile app to see the status of our trails and lifts and plan your ski day accordingly.
We will once again be hit by a period of rain on Thursday evening, but good weather will return with slightly colder, more seasonal temperatures starting Saturday. These upcoming temperatures will help preserve the snow on our trails while still providing great conditions for skiing and outdoor fun.
As milder weather settles in, snow conditions change throughout the day. As skiers and snowboarders, we also need to adjust our approach on the mountain. To get the best possible skiing experience, we recommend following the sun—starting your day on the North Side, where the sun rises and hits the trails first, then moving to the Soleil and South Sides in the late morning and early afternoon. This allows the conditions to soften naturally with the sun’s movement.
As for our terrain parks, recent warmth and rain have impacted the features, particularly in the Adrenaline Park. Our team has worked hard this week to rebuild and redistribute snow around the features to ensure they are safe and make it to the end of the season. The Mitik Park remains fully open, the Progression Park reopened on Tuesday afternoon, and the Curé-Deslauriers section of the Adrenaline Park reopened on Wednesday. The Promenade section will remain closed until the weekend as we work to prepare it for Saturday’s JAMIGOS event. Meanwhile, the P’tit Parc is now closed for the season.
Mountain safety tip of the week : Do not use the ski lifts and slopes if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol. On the slopes, the risks of collision or simply falling depend on factors involving concentration, the ability to assess and anticipate, as well as the reaction speed to an unexpected situation. Alcohol or drugs on the slopes lead to a loss of these abilities and reflexes, just like it does while driving.
