It’s a Go for the 22/23 Ski Season!

Despite a month of November that started with temperatures higher than normale, the weather rapidly changed to allow us to start our snow making operations on the mountain in view of the ski season opening. It is after 12 days of consecutive snow making that we can kick off the season on November 24!

Several works were done this summer/fall on the mountain, including the replacement of a water pipe from the South base to the mid-mountain. In addition, like every year, a team responsible for maintaining the snowmaking system worked all summer preparing for the ski season to allow the snow team to get the snowmaking system off to a good start. We have also carried out several optimizations works on the snowmaking system, including the installation of fixed snow guns at strategic locations on the mountain in order to increase the production of snow at the beginning of the season. A brand-new line of snow guns was installed in the Bière-en-bas trail this fall. This new line consists of around 30 snow guns, versus 17 previously, equipped with technology allowing us to start and stop the system more quickly and efficiently.
