A new $14.1M investment was announced earlier today to refresh Tremblant’s guest and sports experience, with $10.3M being directed on-mountain and $3.8M on a major Aquaclub La Source makeover.

As part of a five-year investment plan announced in March 2018, Alterra Mountain Company has invested $17M toward the current slide season’s on-mountain upgrades, from a global $555M investment in its family of emblematic destinations. Today’s announcement also includes $1,684,600 received in August 2018 by Station Mont Tremblant from the Québec government, within the context of its Tourism Development Strategy Support Program.

On-Mountain Experience That Keeps Getting Better and Better

This subsequent on-mountain investment will primarly serve to boost snowmaking capacity. For instance, Versant Soleil’s Algonquin trail will be better equipped to offer skiers additional beginner and intermediate terrain, and over a longer period of time. “A more performant snowmaking system will allow us to keep this sector of the mountain open longer” stated Patrice Malo, Station Mont-Tremblant President and Chief Operating Officer. “The addition of about 90 extra snowguns to our fleet will optimize our snowmaking capacity and boost production to a very impressive 87 feet of snow across one acre, in only 24 hours.

This latest investment also covers the acquisition of two Prinoth grooming machines ?  a Bison and a Husky ?  as well as maintenance work on the Express Gondola, and Phase II of Le Grand Manitou renovations comprising washrooms on all three floors, and roof replacement.

Next winter also marks the introduction of a new food truck concept to enhance the on-mountain foodservice offer. Year-round, guests will enjoy restaurant fare on the go, in assorted strategic locations according to the weather, events or peak periods.

Other projects have also been earmarked, including the renovation of certain hotel and boutique common areas, public washrooms as well as golf club rental equipment upgrades and course maintenance.

Aquaclub La Source Makeover

The transformation of Aquaclub La Source will renew the indoor activity offer so that rain or shine, families have access to an all-new waterpark proposing a refreshed aquatic experience. The complex will feature 4 water slides, 35 interactive water games, an indoor jetted tub and an all-new fitness centre. Renovations also include the welcome area, lockers and showers.

The Minister of Tourism, Caroline Proulx, pointed out that all these initiatives are very good news because they will contribute to confirm Québec’s reputation as a prime winter destination among slide sport fans and outdoor enthusiasts. “Winter here has all the potential for our destination to become a travel hotspot. Showcasing its distinctive character with our national and international clienteles is therefore paramount. I commend the excellent work of Mr Patrice Malo, President and Chief Operating Officer at Station Mont Tremblant, and his entire team.”
