Long live the blues – a unique summer experience in Tremblant

Anne-Marie Withenshaw is categorical: if you’re a regular at Tremblant during the ski season but have never enjoyed the mountain in summer, you’ll be amazed! Warm weather and the blues will go hand in hand during your stay with us. Tremblant can be enjoyed as much around a stage as on the streets of the pedestrian village: you can go for a stroll and stumble upon an improvised show on balconies or meet one of our favourite artists. Everyone agrees that the proximity between artists and the public is truly unique.

“If you’re keen on outdoor activities, you can enjoy nature in addition to the Festival,” said Anne-Marie Withenshaw. “The beach and the mountain are just minutes from the stages, adding a special dimension to your stay.” The range of blues styles makes it interesting for the whole family. There’s something for every taste and every generation. “There’s Andria Simone, a young and modern singer who sounds like Janice Joplin, and the band Delgres from Guadeloupe, who play a mix of Caribbean rhythms and New Orleans blues. Then there’s Heymoonshaker, two British singers who blend blues and electronic music in addition to beatbox. And there are American and Canadian stars such as Jonathan Tyler, who has performed at the Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo festivals, and for famous bands like AC/DC, as well as Paul Deslauriers, a great Canadian bluesman. Now that’s diversity!”

A truly vintage year

More than 100,000 people come to groove to the blues in Tremblant in a unique atmosphere. This year, our spokesperson says the talent—condensed into two weeks of festival—is unprecedented: “It’s one of the best programs, if not the best, ever. Every year, the Festival’s popularity grows.”

Want another name to add to your agenda for your stay in Tremblant? “John Németh! The recipient of two Blues Music Awards in the last two years, he represents the revival of soul-blues of the 60’s. It’s a must-see show during the first weekend of the festival.”
