Ski, walk, run, give. It does everyone good!

You’ve probably heard of Tremblant’s 24h events, but have you ever signed up for one? Did you know that other than skiing for the children, you can walk or run on their behalf? This will be, without a doubt, the biggest team event this winter. Join the cause from December 5 to 7, 2014.

The experience

Imagine yourself celebrating with 2,000 other people who’ve just completed a 24-hour team challenge to benefit children. Every annual edition of Tremblant’s 24h has its special moments and highlights: the shouts of encouragement, the cheers and congratulations, the joy and yes, even the occasional tears. Above all, though, everyone feels immense pride. They’re proud to have gone the distance, pushed themselves to the limit, knowing that their 24-hour effort will make a big difference in the lives of underprivileged or sick kids. It’s a memory they will treasure always.

The event starts on Friday night. Participants arrive, find friends, family members and co-workers, and thank them for being there.  New acquaintances are made, celebrities are spotted: they, like everyone else, have been touched by the courage of the sponsored children and are there to do their part for Tremblant’s 24h.

On Saturday morning, it’s pandemonium. Participants start the day with a good breakfast alongside the children who will benefit from the fundraiser. The morning meal has often been the occasion for touching and inspirational encounters that further fuel motivation. After breakfast, the participants congregate outside, anxiously awaiting the departure announcement. Many of them have butterflies; the crowd of onlookers and fans is so huge, it’s crazy!

A 24-hour challenge has its share of highs and lows, but through it all, the competitors cheer and support each other, always keeping the cause in mind to sustain their motivation. The artists, singers and musicians who provide the live entertainment electrify the crowds and inspire the teams to stay the course. The atmosphere is truly amazing.

All through the day and all through that night, until noon the next day, the participants ski, walk or run. The air is cold but the mood is warm. And when it’s all over, each participant is happy and relieved to have had this unique experience of solidarity, mutual support, and common purpose.
